The 4GR section is under construction. It is currently moving from thinking about it, to reality. This section is about the scrapbook in my possession for about 20 years, which is now finally scanned.
Some items in the other 4GR sections have been given to me over the years and recently many new items have been made available, as well as a collection being made available in the new year. All this has made it possible to try and put the history of 4GR up on the website.
I am not a fast worker, too many radio projects that distract me, however, keep checking back and watch it grow.
If you have photos you can scan, or items you can photograph, stories to tell, please send them. The site isn't about me, its about telling the stories.
The 4GR section will have its own header. A friend will be designing it as soon as I supply him with the images.

THE SCRAPBOOK
The Explanation
About 20 years ago, I started collecting Radio Serials.
I also started collecting Radio Listener Club badges.
Then, I started collecting Radio Magazines like Wireless Weekly, Listener In, ABC Weekly, Teleradio, Radio Pictorial and others.
I would advertise that I wanted to buy such items.
That then brought me The Scrapbook. A souvenir book about 4GR, to which had been added layers of newspaper and radio magazines articles and pictures. Not having been born a local, there was a lot for me to learn about 4GR. This was a great start.
The early articles were glued to the pages of the book, mainly over the ads. Then subsequent layers were added, by gluing small sections of top or sides of the articles, to "hinge" the articles and allow you to lift them to see the articles underneath. Sometimes 3 layers deep. Some original pages have also been included. Given that the date of the book is 1937-38, it was probably released in 1938. There are a couple of earlier items and also loose articles from 1940-41, but the bulk is 1938-39.
Someone wrote Months and years on some of the articles, in pencil. I have now scanned everything, as the glue and age will eventually render them unreadable. One day I will find a complete version of the Souvenir book and will add it here. I have only seen one other, but the price was excessive for me.
Cutting articles and pictures from magazines and newspapers was a common way for a fan to track the item or person over a period of time. Newspapers and magazines had many uses and were passed from hand to hand, so you cut out the item of most importance to you. Not as fun for subsequent readers who turn the page and find a gap in what they were reading.
In this section, I will lay out the items about 4GR, in the order of the pencil clues, with guesses for the other items. There were a couple of articles or pictures about staff at 4BC and 4BH which will be used elsewhere.
I may have to change the page to improve the flow, but initially I will simply add the scans. They are a social history of 4GR
I have forgotten the name of the person who presented me with The Scrapbook which passed down in her family, however the family name of Humphrey is written on the cover. I hope they get to see that their family efforts are not forgotten and that it forms a part of the history of 4GR and is appreciated.
